Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) is reportedly all set to export a light diesel oil cargo from Kochi in a rare move. The state-owned refiner sold 35,000 tonnes of the cargo, which has a sulphur content of 1.5 per cent, to Vitol and is expected to load the cargo this week. The export will be temporary and will halt once a secondary unit at the refinery is started.

BPCL is into exploration, production and retailing of petroleum and petrol related products. The retail business unit of BPCL is into marketing of petrol, diesel and kerosene.
